Starting 2026 with a Beautiful Photo Shoot by the Kamo River
Gion Shirakawa—right in front of our studio—is always a popular spot, but it’s only available for photo shoots until noon. For guests visiting in the afternoon, the Kamo River is a fantastic alternative.
Take your time, enjoy the charming Kyoto streets, and let us capture natural, relaxed moments along the riverside.The time before sunset is especially beautiful, when the sky begins to glow softly.
It’s a short walk from our studio, and that stroll is part of the experience. Crossing the Shijo Bridge intersection in kimono — with Minamiza behind you — is such a fun moment. You can’t help but stand out a little, and the extra attention in the middle of the city just makes the experience even more exciting.
This shoot was blessed with the gentle winter light, but each season along the Kamo River has its own charm—spring greens, summer brightness, autumn colors. If you’re not a morning person or your schedule brings you to Kyoto in the afternoon, the Kamo River location is definitely worth a try. A perfect way to enjoy Kyoto at your own pace.
